For writing we are working on Explanation Writing. I have done a piece of writing about the life cycle of a butterfly.
The life cycle of a butterfly
The life cycle of a butterfly is a pretty easy cycle. There are only 4 stages which include egg, caterpillar, cocoon and butterfly.
The cycle starts off with an egg. The adult lays eggs on the milkweed then the eggs will hatch within a four day period of time.
The next stage is the caterpillar. The caterpillar will go into a cocoon and stay there for about ten to fourteen days. The caterpillar will then start turning into a butterfly.
The butterfly will hatch out of the cocoon. The butterfly's wings have to dry before they can fly, it takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the wings are dry the butterfly will flap its wings and learn to fly. The butterfly will live for up to 4 weeks.
Now you know lots about the life cycle of a butterfly.
