This week for reading one of the activities was a comprehension about carnival. This is my questions and answers.



Carnival Comprehension Questions


  1. When do most carnivals take place? Why do you think this time of year is chosen? They happen six weeks before easter. I don't why  



  1. What does the word ‘flamboyant’ mean?  tending to attract attention because of their exuberance, confidence, and stylishness.



  1. Where do they celebrate Mardi Gras and what is an important symbol of this carnival?   In new orleans 



  1. Why do you think Brazil is sometimes referred to as a ‘melting pot’ of culture? There lots of different coulpturs there 



  1. Why is carnival so important to Brazil?

It a reflection of there life 


  1. What is different about carnival season Germany and most other countries? Different time of  the year 



  1. Why do you think carnivals are so popular across the world and attract so many visitors?  Bring different coulperts together 



  1. Why do you think people give up something for lent?  It is a religious thing 



  1. The text says that carnivals are often characterised by masks, flamboyant costumes, music and colourful floats and parades. What does this mean?  Carnivals are very colorful and impressive
